Elisen had responsibility to guide or develop the design and obtain certification of special mission role conversion of a number of Learjet 35 aircraft.
Avionics modification/upgrades included:
- Mission control panels
- VHF/UHF radios and audio panels
- Data recorder
- IFF transponder
- TACAN
- ADS-B Out
Cabin modifications involved:
- Removal of standard interior components
- Installation of operator/mission console
- Installation of avionics rack
The following mission capabilities were incorporated:
- Target Tow (TT),
- Electronic Warfare (EW),
- Motion Imagery (MI), and
- Digital Close Air Support (DCAS) systems
The modifications were approved by Transport Canada (TCCA) and Canada’s Department of National Defence (DND) and Germany’s Federal Defence.
